June Brilly

Statement

A painter of solid reputation, she is well known for her images of horses, cattle, badgers, rooks and other creatures. Has shown widely in Ireland, England and the U.S., with work in many private collections throughout the world. A veteran of numerous group and solo shows, her last two major shows having been with the Gorry Gallery, Dublin.

Aside from her broadly traditional work she continues to explore a more complex and expressive interpretation of animals, both as a lament for the dwindling wild places and as a metaphor for the human condition.  June was born in Illinois, U.S.A. and settled in Ireland in 1975.
