Niamh Hynan
Statement
My art work explores the gestural marks and energy in our environment with hints of both figurative and landscape subject matter. Many of the works present a dynamic centre of movement within the stable confines of a square shaped canvas. This creates a sense of tension and excitement. The shapes within the work tantalize, they are open to interpretation. An adventurous exploration of materials such as oil, varnish, pigment powder, bitumen and fabric are used.
Niamh Hynan, originally from Carbury, Co. Kildare graduated from Dublin Institute of Technology in 2002 with an honours degree in Fine Art Painting and continued her education in NCAD with a post graduate H.Dip in Art and Design Education. She has exhibited in a number of solo exhibitions in Dublin and Kildare.
