Brid Ní Rinn
Statement
There are only a few of us left of those who qualified in the National College of Art before it was wrecked by rampaging Barbarians, i.e. students, in 1960. By breaking up the beautiful casts of classic antique sculpture they broke the link with the training in academic art that was traditional for centuries.
I have over seventy sculpture works, accessible to the public, in ecclesiastic and secular sites throughout thirteen counties of this country, and also a good deal of work in private hands. I am grateful to all who commissioned work from me and happy to sell to individuals because art is not just to give pleasure to the artist but must communicate in some way.
Gabhaim buíochas do Dhia as an mbua a thug Sé dom agus as áileacht na cruinne atá ós ár gcomhair amach.
